THE MAIN CHARACTER

ABILITY: Raygun, Spirit wave tecnique

 

Eugene was first introduced as a 14 year old kid. He was the type of student who often skipped classes in favor of loafing around or beating other bullies. None of his teachers like him, except Mr. Takenaka. He loves to get involved in fights. His former rival was Alfred. One day (in the first episode), Eugene pushes a child out of a speeding car's way. He got hit by the car and in a flash of a second, he sees his body lying on the ground. Charlene then brought him to Jericho, who told Eugene that his death was unexpected. He was given the chance to live again, but only if he was to become a Spirit World Detective. After a few missions, Eugene is resurrected and is given a mission to protect the Earth and the Spirit World. Soon, he learned the Rei Gun technique from Jericho. (Contrary to most sites, Eugene's power is the Rei Gun> or Spirit Gun, not the Ray Gun. Rei means Spirit) He was also trained by Master Jeremiah, who greatly improved his fighting skills and his Ray Gun technique. As such, Eugene was a Class-A human being, but after his 'death,' he becomes an S-level creature.

In the later series, Eugene earns the Spirit Wave technique(Rei-Kou-Hadou-Ken) from Jeremiah. The Spirit Wave is a vastly improved version of the Rei Gun. He uses this technique against Toguro and later on against Sensui.      Eugene has a crush on Jenny, although their relation is somewhat very typical: they often get into arguments and each cares for the other when in trouble, although none of them likes to admit it. He do not let anyone hurts Jenny, He is ready to give his life just to be sure that Jenny wil be ok. When he was chosen to be the succesor of Master Jeremiah, who trained him, he became more powerful. After the training, he can use raygun more than once a day, unlike before, he can only use his raygun once a day.      Eugene is also Raizen's descendant (and sometimes Raizen's 'son'). In the later series, Eugene takes over Raizen's place as Emperor and rules Raizen's kingdom. In the effort to let the Netherworlds stay in one piece, he proposes a tournament to decide who will be the ruler of the Netherworlds. The winner of the tournmanet will rule the Netherworlds for some years and then once more hold another tournament to decide a new ruler. Eugene was one the last qualifiers until he was beaten by Yomi. Their fight lasted for 65 hours until Yomi pulled a sneak attack. When Eugene lost, he decided to continue to train his skills for future competitions.
